Diversity, equity, inclusion

The social work profession has always sought to promote the full potential of all people, leverage human strengths, address inequities, and connect people to resources. Toward that end, clients of all identities, genders, sexual/romantic orientations, cultures, and nationalities are welcome.

“Social workers demonstrate knowledge that guides practice … in the provision of culturally informed services that empower marginalized individuals and groups”

Limits of practice

Telemedicine therapy is neither safe, sufficient, nor appropriate for clients struggling with suicidal thoughts or behavior, violent thoughts or behavior, interpersonal violence, mania, schizophrenia, or addiction. Such individuals should call 911 or 988, go to their nearest emergency room, and establish care with a local team of in-person mental health professionals.

Because I am not trained in assessing disability, I do not write letters for disability, absences, sick days, or support animals.

Because I am not trained in substance misuse treatment, I only work with long term sober clients.
