PATRICIA WAKEFIELD THERAPY

I am a graduate of Wellesley College (BA, Biology), Massaschusetts Institute of Technology (SM, Applied Biology), Florida State University (MSW, Clinical Social Work), and the University of Wisconsin Consortium MBA program.

I began my career as a researcher using molecular biological techniques to study cancer gene expression and regulation. From there, I utilized my technical knowledge in business development roles in pharmaceutical and biotechnology companies, helping companies identify markets for products and obtain funding for research and development projects.

I became interested in compassion, empathy, Buddhist ideas about wellbeing and happiness, and relationship science, and retrained to become a social worker. Social work’s core values of service, social justice, the dignity and worth of the person, the importance of human relationships, integrity, and competence fit well with my personal values and professional goals.

I have clinical licenses in five states: Pennsylvania, Massachusetts, California, Michigan, and Florida. I can work with patients who are located in any of these states at the time of service.
